The PRS Modern Eagle has always represented the company's pursuit of what's next. Rather than recreating a vintage classic, the Modern Eagle V was designed from the ground up for players who demand exceptional craftsmanship and a remarkably broad tonal palette. At its core, it's unmistakably PRS, with a carved maple top, mahogany back, Pattern mahogany neck, and the flawless fit and finish the Maryland factory is known for. Where it sets itself apart is in the electronics. This isn't a guitar with a handful of good sounds. It's a guitar that seems to have the right sound for just about everything.
The combination of TCI humbuckers, the NS 01 middle pickup, independent mini toggle coil splits, and the push pull tone control opens up an enormous range of genuinely usable tones without ever feeling complicated. Thick humbucker sounds, convincing single coils, glassy in between positions, and combinations unique to the Modern Eagle V are all right at your fingertips. Paired with the PRS Gen III tremolo and Phase III locking tuners, everything feels smooth, stable, and incredibly refined. I think that's what makes the Modern Eagle V so impressive. It doesn't try to be every guitar at once. It simply gives you more inspiring sounds than almost anything else hanging on the wall.
