This PRS McCarty Tremolo Wood Library takes the classic McCarty formula and turns it into something you simply won’t find in the standard Core lineup. Wood Library builds give select PRS dealers the opportunity to curate limited instruments using premium tonewoods, custom finishes, and unique appointments; and this one is loaded. A Flame Maple 10-Top sits over a traditional Mahogany back, paired with a Ziricote fretboard and matching headstock veneer, custom Old School Pink and Sparkle MOP birds, Hybrid hardware, and a striking Red Tiger finish.

But as outrageous as that 10-Top is, flip this guitar over. The one-piece Flame Maple neck is ridiculous, with deep figuring running its entire length. It completely transforms the guitar from the back and makes an already special Wood Library build feel considerably more exotic. Combined with the natural Mahogany back and dark Ziricote board, the contrast between the woods is spectacular.

Then there’s the configuration itself. A McCarty with a Gen III tremolo is already an uncommon sight, but this one also features an expanded electronics package with McCarty III pickups, a 3-way toggle, and dual mini-toggle EQ switches. Having both the tremolo and this level of electronic control on the traditionally straightforward McCarty platform makes this an especially unique and rare configuration. Between that, the custom finish, 10-Top, exotic Ziricote appointments, and insane matching Flame Maple neck, this is exactly what makes Wood Library so much fun. A McCarty you’re simply not going to see every day.
