This Novo Serus J Custom is a perfect example of what makes Novo so cool: familiar ingredients, completely reimagined into something that feels unmistakably their own. The Heather Mist finish is absolutely killer, sitting somewhere between dusty pink and metallic lavender depending on the light. Paired with Novo's Light distressing, the exposed grain of the tempered pine comes through beautifully and gives the entire guitar a ton of texture and character.
The black appointments are the perfect contrast. A huge 3-ply black pickguard, black P-90 covers and Witch Hat knobs give the soft Heather Mist finish some attitude, while the matching peghead ties the whole build together. Novo's sculpted body shape and deep rear contour make it just as interesting from the back as it is from the front.
A pair of Lollar P-90s gives this Serus J the punch, clarity and raw character that suits the design perfectly, while the Mastery M1 bridge and NV Vibrato with Lightning Bolt arm make for an exceptionally serious offset-style setup. The tempered maple Medium C neck, rosewood fingerboard and compound 9.5"-14" radius keep the playing experience equally dialed in.
This is Novo doing what Novo does best: vintage attitude, modern execution and a completely original aesthetic. The Heather Mist finish alone makes this one special, but the P-90/Mastery combination turns it into a seriously killer player's guitar.
