Mayones Aquila Cardinal 6 Adam Christianson Signature | Cardinal White Aged

The Mayones Aquila Cardinal is the signature model of Adam Christianson of Architects, and this Aged version might be the coolest interpretation of it yet. The Cardinal takes the familiar proportions of a classic double-cut Super Strat and completely reworks them through the lens of a modern Mayones. This one goes even further, pairing that contemporary platform with a heavily aged Monolith Arctic White nitro finish that looks like it has already lived a lifetime.

The aging is fantastic. Fine checking runs throughout the white nitro, with carefully placed wear exposing the darker layer beneath around the edges and across both the front and back. Against that stark body, the Antique Black treatment on the one-piece maple neck and headstock looks incredible, while the striped Macassar ebony fingerboard adds another completely unexpected visual element. It's vintage-inspired without looking like Mayones is simply trying to recreate an old guitar.

Underneath the aged exterior, everything is unapologetically modern: stainless steel frets, a 25.4" scale, Hipshot fixed bridge and GripLock tuners, plus Mayones Velvetrone Ironside and Solium humbuckers. The minimal single-volume layout is paired with five-way switching for full humbuckers and inner- and outer-coil combinations. It's the contrast that makes this Cardinal so special: an Adam Christianson signature that looks worn in, but plays and performs exactly like the precision-built modern instrument you'd expect from Mayones.
