The Gibson Custom Shop ES 3399 is a relatively uncommon variation of the ES 339, and that extra 9 is important. It denotes the substantial 1959 style neck profile, giving the guitar a fuller, more traditional Gibson feel than the slimmer neck found on many ES 339s. You still get the compact proportions that make the 339 so comfortable, but with a neck that feels much closer to a great late 50s Gibson.
Finished in Vintage Sunburst, the ES 3399 takes the classic Gibson semi hollow formula and shrinks it into a body that feels considerably closer to a solidbody. The maple body and center block are paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, while a pair of 57 Classic humbuckers delivers the warmth, clarity and response you would expect from this era of Gibson Custom Shop production.
It's a cool and genuinely uncommon piece of Gibson history, combining the compact ES 339 platform with the more substantial 59 neck that gives the ES 3399 its name.
