The 1979 Guild S-60D comes from an era when Guild wasn’t afraid to do things differently. Made in the USA with a solid mahogany body, set mahogany neck and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, the S-60D has a look and feel completely its own. It’s bold, unconventional, unmistakably late ’70s, and exactly the kind of vintage guitar that’s become harder to find today.
The S-60D takes things even further with a pair of factory DiMarzio SDS-1 single-coils. They’re hotter and more muscular than a traditional single-coil, with plenty of punch, bite and attitude that works brilliantly with the all-mahogany construction. It’s a seriously cool sounding guitar and a reminder of just how adventurous Guild was during this period.
Nearly five decades later, this one has lived a life and wears it well. The natural mahogany has aged beautifully, with genuine play wear, dings and marks giving it exactly the character you want from a vintage guitar like this. Most importantly, it has been freshly set up by our expert tech, plays flawlessly and sounds incredible. Complete with a hardshell case, this is a proper vintage player’s piece with loads of personality.
