Suhr Classic S Custom | Black Burst

The Suhr Classic S Custom takes the iconic S-style platform and elevates it into boutique territory. This isn’t a mass-produced Strat clone — it’s a purpose-built instrument for players who demand precision, versatility, and a feel that disappears in your hands. Every choice here reflects intention and taste, from the roasted maple neck to the custom wiring and premium pickups.

At the heart of this build is a lightweight 2-piece Swamp Ash body finished in a gloss Black Burst that shows off the grain without being flashy. Paired with a roasted maple neck and roasted maple fingerboard, it delivers a fast feel with exceptional note definition and stability. The Even C RB neck carve (.800–.850), 10"-14" compound radius, and stainless steel frets make bending, vibrato, and speed feel effortless — the kind of modern playability you can only get from a boutique build.

Electronics are where this Custom really separates itself. This one runs a SSV neck humbucker and a Thornbucker II bridge humbucker, selectable via a 3-way blade, with an additional 3-way mini toggle for Series / Split / Parallel switching. That setup gives you far more range than a typical Classic S — from thick, sustaining neck tones to articulate split-coil sparkle to tight, aggressive bridge rhythm.

Hardware is equally dialed: a Suhr 2-post tremolo with steel block, Tusq nut, and Suhr locking tuners keep tuning rock solid, even under heavy trem use. No squeaks, no binding, no drama.

This Classic S Custom is for the player who loves the Strat silhouette but wants a boutique execution with modern flexibility — a guitar that covers worship, blues, fusion, rock, and session work without ever feeling out of place.

Boutique tonewoods, custom wiring, stainless frets, roasted maple stability — it’s everything the Classic S platform offers, pushed into Custom-spec territory.
