The Fano Oltre TC6 Custom in Inca Silver takes the Tele-style platform and filters it through Fano’s boutique lens. The Inca Silver finish gives it that classic offset-era metallic feel, but the distressing gives it the broken-in character of a guitar that has lived on the road. The gold plexi guard adds flash without taking away from the vintage-inspired aesthetic. Paired with the tinted maple neck and matching headstock details, this build guitar feels cohesive, worn-in, and full of personality.
In hand, it has that immediate, easy feel that makes great bolt-on guitars so addictive. The alder body keeps it balanced and resonant, while the maple neck and fretboard add snap and attack. The compound 9.5”-12” radius makes it feel familiar down low and easier to bend higher up the neck, striking a great middle ground between vintage comfort and modern playability. The light neck distress provides the familiar feel of a guitar you’ve owned for years.
Tonally, the pair of Lollar Gold Foil Soapbars give this guitar a voice that stands apart from the usual single-coil or humbucker formula. They have a wide, open, and airy character with clear top-end, warm mids, and a slightly raw edge that’s very touch-sensitive. Clean, they have a chimey, almost hi-fi quality with great note separation. When pushed with gain, they stay articulate with a gritty, vocal-like texture that makes leads and chords equally satisfying.
