The Gibson Les Paul Studio Session takes the stripped down Studio concept and pushes it considerably further, combining the feel and versatility of a modern Les Paul with appointments normally reserved for more expensive models. This one features a gorgeous AA figured maple top finished in Bourbon Burst, with deep flame running across the entire top and a rich red to amber transition that looks fantastic against the cream plastics and chrome hardware.
The upgrades go well beyond looks. An ebony fingerboard, SlimTaper mahogany neck and modern contoured heelmake this an exceptionally comfortable Les Paul, while Ultra Modern weight relief keeps things manageable without sacrificing the feel you expect from a proper carved maple top instrument. Medium jumbo frets and Grover Rotomatic tuners complete a package built to be played hard.
A ’57 Classic and ’57 Classic Plus provide everything from warm, open neck tones to the bite and punch you want from a great Les Paul, but the Studio Session adds considerably more flexibility through its push pull electronics. Coil tapping, phase switching and pure bypass open up a huge range of sounds without changing the classic four knob layout.
This is a seriously well specced Les Paul. Figured maple, ebony, premium electronics and modern ergonomics, wrapped into a guitar that still looks and sounds unmistakably Gibson.
