This is the kind of Private Stock we wanted to build from the beginning: a no-compromise modern metal machine, taken all the way to the absolute highest level PRS can offer. We personally selected the woods for this build at the Private Stock Vault and designed the entire guitar around the modern player. Not a traditional PRS with a few modern specs added — this was conceived from the ground up as a seven-string that could stand beside the best modern guitars in the world, while still being unmistakably Private Stock.

And visually, we absolutely nailed it. The curly maple top is matched by a full curly maple back cap, with an ash middle creating an incredibly unique body construction. Even the curly maple neck gets the full treatment. Everything is finished in Ultraviolet Smokeburst Satin Nitro, allowing that ridiculous figuring to run from the front, across the back and all the way up the neck. The satin finish and smoked edges give it an aggressive, almost sinister look, while the purple and pink figuring explodes through underneath.

Then come the details. The ebony board features incredibly subtle swirl resin offset birds with Blue Luminlay outlines, matched by Blue Luminlay side dots. The ebony headstock carries a matching swirl resin Private Stock Eagle, also outlined in Luminlay. Even the electronics cavity gets a matching curly maple backplate stained to disappear into the back cap. This is the stuff that separates Private Stock from simply being an expensive guitar.

Functionally, we left nothing on the table. A Pattern Thin seven-string neck, fixed PRS plate-style seven-string bridge, Phase III locking tuners with ebony buttons and a bone nut create the foundation, while a pair of direct-mounted Bare Knuckle Pickups Aftermath Special Edition pickups make the intent of this guitar very clear. The purple-to-blue pickup bobbins look absolutely insane against the Ultraviolet finish, while the simple volume, tone and five-way blade layout keeps everything purposeful.

This is exactly what we wanted it to be: the ultimate modern player's PRS. Seven strings, direct-mount Aftermaths, modern ergonomics and uncompromising functionality, wrapped in the most outrageous materials and craftsmanship available through Private Stock. We went all out on this one, and PRS absolutely delivered.
