This Australian-built Ormsby Custom Shop Hypemachine 7 is a purpose-driven, ultra-focused instrument designed for modern players who want maximum clarity, attack, and sustain. Finished in a stealth satin black over deeply textured swamp ash, it delivers the aggressive, boutique aesthetic that Ormsby’s Perth workshop is known for—raw, refined, and unmistakably custom.
At the heart of this build is a Perry-voiced bridge humbucker, modeled after the original DiMarzio Blaze and refined for extra rasp, grit, and midrange punch. The electronics are intentionally stripped back: no neck pickup and no volume or tone controls, eliminating magnetic pull and circuitry that can dampen resonance. The result is a direct, hyper-sensitive signal path that responds instantly to your picking dynamics and hand control.
A flamed maple neck, ebony fretboard, jumbo stainless frets, and a revised D carve make this Hype Machine fast, stable, and incredibly comfortable. The 25.5"–27.8" multiscale layout tightens the low end for extended-range clarity while keeping the high strings familiar and fluid. Ormsby’s multiscale hardtail bridge and locking tuners complete a build that’s engineered for precision performance.
