Built by the renowned Hungarian luthiers at Fibenare, the Globe 5-String Bass is a striking example of boutique bass craftsmanship—an instrument where refined design, premium materials, and immense tonal versatility come together effortlessly.
This particular example immediately captures attention with its breathtaking Poplar Burl top finished in Tortoise Blue Gloss. The swirling burl figure moves beneath the deep blue finish with incredible depth and dimension, giving the instrument a dynamic, almost liquid appearance under light. Paired with an alder body, the result is a beautifully balanced tonal platform with tight lows, articulate mids, and clear, focused highs.
The flame maple bolt-on neck is paired with a Padouk fretboard, offering both visual warmth and a responsive, fast playing feel. A 34" scale length, comfortable 48mm nut width, and compound 8–15″ conical radius make the instrument feel natural and fluid across the entire fretboard, whether laying down deep groove lines or exploring melodic work higher up the neck.
Tonally, the Globe is powered by a set of Fibenare Vazul pickups (Vazul-N and Vazul-B), delivering impressive clarity, punch, and dynamic response. The control layout provides exceptional flexibility, featuring push-push active/passive operation on the volume control, a 3-band active EQ, blend control, and dual series/parallel/coil-split switches. From modern hi-fi articulation to warmer vintage textures, the tonal palette is remarkably broad.
A Fibenare Twin Bridge and Gotoh GB707 tuners provide outstanding stability, sustain, and precise tuning performance.
