The Patrick James Eggle OZ refines the classic T-style formula into something far more boutique with premium woods and hardware. The natural swamp ash body gives it that classic open-grain character, with a natural, understated look that lets the wood speak for itself. Paired with the eyecatching roasted maple neck and fretboard, black pickguard, and worn chrome hardware, it has a clean, broken-in aesthetic that feels equal parts vintage and modern. It looks simple at first glance, but the finer details reveal how dialed-in the build really is.
In hand, the OZ feels immediately comfortable. The roasted maple neck has a smooth, played-in feel. It fills the hand naturally, striking a balance between sustenance and speed. The 12" radius and medium/tall frets keep bends effortless and clean.
Tonally, the Mojo Pickups Telecaster set delivers exactly what you want from this style of guitar, but with refinement. There is plenty of snap and bite on the bridge, providing that iconic Telecaster bridge pickup twang. The neck stays warm, round, and clear with the woody openness great Telecaster pickups are known for. The reverse control plate places the volume and tone controls where your hand naturally falls, making swells and quick adjustments easier. The Patrick James Eggle OZ in Natural has all the immediacy and articulation of a great Tele-style, just with more refinement, comfort, and responsiveness behind every note.
