ThorpyFX Tacit Blue Germanium Fuzz Pedal

Part of the Vintage Reimagined series, the ThorpyFX Tacit Blue is a limited-edition germanium fuzz pedal built for modern pedalboards. Based on a highly modified Fuzz Face-style circuit, the Tacit Blue offers far greater versatility than traditional vintage fuzz designs. It can deliver everything from subtle hair on your notes to thick, saturated fuzz tones—and even functions beautifully as a rich, low-gain overdrive pedal that adds immense character to your driven sound.

Transformer Loaded Flexibility:
Internally, a miniature transformer simulates an ideal pickup load at the front of the circuit. This allows you to place the Tacit Blue anywhere in your pedal chain—not just first—while still maintaining optimal tone and feel. That said, it still shines best early in your signal path.

Smooth Control:
Shape your fuzz by adjusting the input impedance. This unique feature lets you reduce the wooliness for greater clarity—ideal between 11 and 2 o’clock depending on whether you’re using humbuckers or single coils. Full clockwise emulates a traditional fuzz face response.

Fuzz Control:
Unlike vintage circuits where all the action happens at the end of the dial, the Tacit Blue’s fuzz knob offers a smooth, usable sweep across its entire range for more nuanced tone shaping.

Volume:
Controls the overall output of the fuzz circuit.

Bias:
Dial in more “heat” or aggression with this control, or back it off for smoother, more mellow textures.

Internal Trimpot:
Factory-set for asymmetrical clipping—one side of the waveform has more headroom for added dynamic character. Generally, there’s no need to adjust this.

Power Requirements:
The Tacit Blue Fuzz runs on standard 9V DC, center-negative power supplies (e.g. Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Plus, Gigrig Generator). It does not support alternate voltages or polarities.

Premium Components:
Handmade in the UK using only top-tier components—NOS germanium transistors, 1% metal film resistors, WIMA and Panasonic capacitors—all mounted to a through-hole gold-plated PCB. Built to deliver years of high-end fuzz tones with low noise and maximum reliability.

Condition: Nearly mint with some peeling on the bottom label. Includes the original box.
