The PRS Santana Retro Sprayer’s Choice is a true one of one finish from the PRS factory. Sprayer’s Choice means the PRS finish artist was given full creative freedom to create something outside the standard catalog, resulting in a unique guitar that cannot simply be reordered the same way again. This example wears an incredible Turquoise Blue Sparkle finish that needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The fine metallic shimmer comes alive in the light, while the blue hue has a depth and character that shifts constantly depending on angle.
Beyond the finish, the Santana Retro pays tribute to the early guitars Paul Reed Smith built for Carlos Santana in the early 1980s. It brings back several original design elements including the deeper body carve, original style heel, vintage headstock shape, and classic proportions that helped define the earliest PRS instruments. It blends that historic foundation with the fit, finish, and consistency of modern PRS production.
Loaded with Santana pickups, this model delivers a thick, vocal midrange with smooth highs and excellent sustain. Lead tones feel effortless, chords stay warm and full, and single notes carry with authority. It has the rich, expressive voice the Santana platform is known for, while still retaining enough clarity for clean and edge of breakup tones.
