The Custom 22. For a lot of players, this is where the magic happens. Those two missing frets let the neck pickup sit in a sweet spot, giving it a little more warmth and bloom while still delivering everything people love about a PRS: impeccable craftsmanship, effortless playability, and a voice that seems to fit just about every genre.
This 2005 example comes from what many consider one of PRS's finest eras. The Dragon II pickups have a wonderful balance of clarity and punch, the Wide-Thin neck feels instantly familiar, and at just 8 lbs 3 oz, it's beautifully balanced on a strap. Then there's Whale Blue. Twenty years later, it's still one of PRS's most iconic finishes. In some light it looks almost black, then you catch the figured maple just right and the top comes alive with rich ocean blues that remind you why PRS earned its reputation for finishes in the first place.
Excellent condition for a 21-year-old guitar and complete with its original hardshell case, hang tag, and factory accessories. I have a feeling the next owner won't be in much of a hurry to let this one go.
