The Knaggs Steve Stevens SSC T2 in Dark Amber is a seriously dialed build with a ton of presence. The T2 construction with maple on both the top and back over a mahogany core gives it a tighter low end, more snap, and a bit more push compared to a standard mahogany build, while still keeping that warmth and sustain intact.
The Dark Amber nitro finish lets all of that come through visually too, with the figuring and layering showing in a way that feels rich without being overdone. Paired with the gold hardware and the SSC 9 Ball inlays, it has a strong identity without trying too hard.
This is Steve Stevens’ take on what a high performance single cut should be, and it shows. The Bare Knuckle SSC pickups bring serious clarity and output, staying tight under gain but still opening up for clean work without getting thin. It is a very immediate, responsive guitar that feels alive in your hands, whether you are pushing it or backing off. This is one of those pieces that sits right in that sweet spot between a player and a collector piece, with a look and voice that is hard to replace.
