The IK Multimedia Z-Tone Buffer Boost is a powerful tone-shaping pedal and direct box designed to optimize your signal before it hits the rest of your rig. Based on the input circuitry from IK Multimedia’s acclaimed AXE I/O interface, it allows guitarists and bassists to fine-tune the feel and response of their instrument while maintaining a strong, clean signal across even large pedalboards.

The pedal features selectable Active and Passive pickup modes along with two tonal circuits: the PURE channel for transparent, ultra-clean signal buffering, and the JFET channel for added warmth and harmonic character. The Z-TONE variable impedance control further expands tonal flexibility, letting you shape the interaction between your pickups and the pedal to dial in everything from tight and focused to open and dynamic response.

A built-in boost circuit can add extra volume and drive to push amps or pedals harder, while the balanced XLR output allows the Z-Tone to double as a high-quality direct box for mixers, recording interfaces, or live PA systems. A ground lift switch helps eliminate unwanted hum, making it a versatile tool for both stage and studio setups.

This example is in excellent condition with minor scuffs from normal use. The foam on the bottom side is beginning to peel slightly but does not affect functionality in any way. The original box and power supply are not included.
