The Ernie Ball Music Man DarkRay is where the legendary Stingray platform collides with Darkglass Electronics’ cutting-edge drive circuitry to create one of the most versatile modern basses on the market. Designed in partnership with Darkglass, the DarkRay features a custom 2-Band active preamp with three switchable modes—Clean, Alpha (tight distortion), and Omega (fuzz)—letting you blend crystal-clear lows with aggressive drive or full fuzz without sacrificing bottom end. A gain knob, blend control, and intuitive 3-way selector make tonal shaping effortless, with a color-coded LED ring indicating your active mode.
Underneath the electronics, the DarkRay remains every bit a Stingray Special: a roasted maple neck, ebony fingerboard, a neodymium humbucking pickup, 22 stainless steel frets, lightweight body contours, and the iconic 3+1 headstock. Matte black hardware and a Darkglass-stamped neck plate complete the look.
