With a bookmatched figured maple top over a basswood body, the Axis delivers that unmistakable mix of snap, warmth, and midrange punch — aggressive enough for hard-edged rock, yet dynamically sensitive when you roll back the volume.
The real magic is in the neck. A super high grade roasted figured maple neck with EBMM’s legendary asymmetric carve feels fast, familiar, and insanely comfortable, while 22 stainless steel frets, a 5-bolt sculpted joint, and a 10" radius make high-fret access effortless. It’s the kind of neck that immediately disappears under your hands.
Tone comes from a pair of custom DiMarzio humbuckers voiced specifically for the Axis — tight low end, vocal mids, and saturated harmonics that cut without getting harsh. Paired with the Music Man double-locking tremolo, you get rock-solid tuning stability and expressive pitch control.
From the hand-rubbed oil/wax neck finish to the Schaller tuners and ultra-precise neck pocket, the Axis is proof that small details still matter. It’s a guitar built for players, not spec sheets — and once you pick it up, you’ll understand why it’s been a cult favorite for decades.
