Duesenberg Alliance Series Joe Walsh Signature | Black with Flame Maple Back

The Duesenberg Alliance Series Joe Walsh is one of those signature guitars that feels genuinely personal rather than simply putting an artist’s name on an existing model. Developed directly with Joe Walsh, it incorporates details pulled from his life, personality, and history: the rosewood fingerboard inlays spell out his name in Morse code, a nod to his longtime passion for amateur radio, while the Tibetan Knot between the pickups carries personal significance for Joe and mirrors a tattoo he wears himself. Finished in Black with a gold-sparkle pickguard and Joe-inspired mix of nickel and gold hardware, it has an unmistakable look without losing Duesenberg’s beautifully refined aesthetic.

Its extra-slim semi-hollow construction is equally distinctive, combining the openness and resonance of a semi-hollow instrument with the familiar feel and handling of a thin solid-body. Joe personally requested the unusual pickup pairing as well: a Duesenberg LittleToaster mini-humbucker in the bridge for an open, transparent top end, paired with the noiseless SingleTwin Mini in the neck for clear, articulate single-coil character. It’s an exceptionally responsive combination and one of the more interesting pickup configurations anywhere in the Duesenberg lineup.

The guitar is finished off with Duesenberg’s custom Radiator Tremola, complete with gold accents unique to the Joe Walsh model, offering the smooth action and tuning stability the company’s vibrato systems are known for. Add the 25.5" scale, one-piece maple neck, 12" radius Indian rosewood board, PLEK-processed frets and beautifully executed semi-hollow construction, and you have a signature model with some serious substance behind the aesthetics. At just 7 lbs 7 oz, this particular example is an incredibly cool, thoughtfully designed collaboration between one of rock guitar’s most iconic players and one of the most distinctive guitar builders in the world.
