The Di Donato Hasaki is an innovative and meticulously crafted electric guitar, blending traditional luthiery with cutting-edge design. Inspired by the precision of Japanese blades, the wooden body is just 13mm thick, acting as a resonant soundboard that vibrates freely across four key points, optimizing sustain and tonal clarity.

At the heart of the design is a main aluminum frame with a central core and four lateral arms. The neck, pickups, and strings are mounted to the central core, while the wooden body is attached to the arms, allowing it to move independently for maximum resonance. The bridge is a solid, fixed piece with no moving parts, ensuring optimal vibration transfer—just like a classical instrument. Due to the fact that the bridge is fixed, the height of the strings is adjusted by an Allen key. The guitar is adorned with a gold foil truss rod channel cover and Murano glass side dot markers, adding a unique touch of elegance to its striking design.

Di Donato takes a holistic approach to tone, crafting custom pickups tailored to each guitar’s natural acoustic properties. These are handwound, P90-style pickups with unique coil shapes, slug materials, and carefully selected magnets—including Alnico 2, 4, 5, and ceramic—resulting in a dynamic and articulate voice. The electronics module is housed in a single, removable unit, making it easy to swap, modify, or repair. Only high-end components are used throughout, from premium capacitors to top-tier pots and switches.

Every Di Donato guitar is a statement piece, designed to reveal its innovation gradually—familiar at first glance, yet radically different when examined closely.
